MISSION AND VISION (DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION)

The teaching language in the Textile Design Department is Turkish, with eight semesters (4 years) of continuous formal education. Students are enrolled based on YGS points and Special Ability Exam results.

Our mission for our students is to ensure they are;
•      educated in line with interests and skills based on the aims of higher education and the scientific policy of the country, according to labor requirements at high levels of society and a variety of stages

•      encouraged to research and partake in activities in the scientific and artistic fields

•     interested in following advancements

•     able to adapt their knowledge, skills and behavior to professional life

Our vision is;

•     to ensure that students attending the Textile Design Department have appropriate physical environment to effectively apply new ideas and concepts they develop

•     To ensure application of design processes in line with design principles

•     to ensure cooperative learning methods are used with esthetic values and technological possibilities of technical knowledge

•     to ensure that education-teaching activities are completed in a manner that meets the quality design requirements of the textile and clothing industries

•     to ensure the training of individuals who continuously monitor developments related to technology, fashion, art and textiles, to be included among organizations who train students with technical knowledge, skills and design principles that can be used in the mass production sector and in artistic manner

•     to teach students the highest level of technical knowledge and skills in conceptual and applied lessons in Printing, Weaving and Clothing Art Branches and other branches that will be opened as needed

•     to ensure combination of students’ new ideas and concepts with creative skills

•     to ensure the creation of products in line with social expectations in pattern, print, weaving and clothing designs in the Print, Weaving and Clothing Art fields

•     to ensure inclusion of confidence and devotion in activities related to our field within a developing and changing universal system

•     to gain awareness that will develop aspects of knowledge between disciplines
