ABOUT US

At our faculty, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes are offered in the Ceramics and Glass Department; undergraduate, postgraduate, and proficiency in art programmes in the Painting Department; and undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the Graphic Design Department. The other three departments are currently admitting students only at the undergraduate level. Our faculty, with a total of 161 students, has not yet begun admitting students to the yet-to-be-opened sculpture and photography departments.

OUR HISTORY

The Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Faculty of Fine Arts was established on 09.09.1997 by the Cabinet Decision according to the 30th article of the law dated 28.03.1983 and numbered 2809, which was published in the Official Gazette dated 19.09.1997 and numbered 23115.

Infrastructure works began at the Anafartalar Campus at the start of the 1999-2000 academic year. In the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) meeting dated 29.02.2000, it was communicated with the official letter dated 07.03.2000 and numbered 531-4897 that the faculty should be comprised of main art branches and art branches according to the amendments of the law numbered 2547 in law 2880 7/d-2 and the 3rd article of the law numbered 2809.

At the beginning of the 2000-2001 academic year, our faculty, which temporarily moved to the buildings of the Vocational School of Ç.M.Y.O, Faculty of Theology, and Faculty of Arts and Sciences in the Terzioğlu Campus, has continued its education and training in its own building in the Terzioğlu Campus as of the autumn term of 2012-2013. Our faculty consists of 6 departments: Painting Department, Ceramics and Glass Department, Textile and Fashion Design Department, Graphic Design Department, Traditional Turkish Arts Department, and Theatre Department.
